God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into a world broken by sin, for the purpose of setting a righteous example, and dying on the cross as a satisfactory sacrifice on behalf of mankind, so that man could be restored to a right relationship with God.
Jesus was buried and rose from the grave 3 days later, and then He ascended into Heaven. Through the Holy Spirit, we can experience the power of Jesus’s resurrection.
Jesus ascended into Heaven, then returned through the Holy Spirit into the hearts of men and women – first in an upstairs room in Jerusalem to 120 people, then to thousands more in the days to follow, and He has been at it ever since; yes, even today when a man or woman will seek and receive God’s forgiveness for their sins, and will afterward ask God for His Holy Spirit, while yielding their will to His, then He will come back into their heart and sanctify them.
This sanctifying power is life-changing! It will change the way you think, act, talk, see the world, and all for the better. This is the true message of the Gospel – that you can be freed from sin and its influences through the sanctifying power of Jesus.
