Thanksgiving Work Weekend

CHSC Family,

We are eagerly looking forward to Thanksgiving Work Weekend and hope you will make plans to attend! This year, our time and efforts will be directed towards the following:

Removing Nursing Home Chapel carpet
Clean up brush in the youth park
Replace cafeteria desk handrails
Clean out church barn and repair
Clean up brush around retaining pond
Repair fan at Youth Park gazebo
Add more lights at Youth Park
Repour cemetery markers on each runner
Build brick dumpster surround at Nursing Home
Recover songbooks in sanctuary

We ask that all volunteers meet at the CSHC Campground Cafeteria at 8:30 AM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings, November 28th–30th, for breakfast, so that we can get these accomplished.

Turkey Trot Fun Run / Walk & 5K

We will be hosting a “Turkey Trot” Fun Run / Walk & 5K Thursday morning.

Meal Prep & Cooking

Our folks are responsible for all the meal prep and cooking, not just serving.

All volunteers can work any day or every day. Crowds have been assigned to organize workers and cover desserts for each day. Contact Sister Claire Collier at (706) 825-5874 to volunteer for a particular job, or just show up and jump in. The fellowship is just as needed as the work! Lunch prep begins immediately following breakfast, and dinner prep just after lunch is served. The Snack Bar will be open throughout the weekend. Please remember that we rely solely on donations to fund the cafeteria, so please give generously!

Daily Schedule

8:30 AM – 9:10 AM: Breakfast & Devotion
9:10 AM – 12:30 PM: Work
12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Lunch Served
1:15 PM – 5:30 PM: Work
7:00 PM: Church

Crowd Schedule

Thursday: Augusta, Greensboro, Chesapeake, Wilmington
Friday: Charleston, Jacksonville, Jemison, Raleigh, Terry
Saturday: Albany, Atlanta, Columbia, Campground, Houma, Old Trap

Dinner will be served in the cafeteria after church Thursday and Friday nights.
Bible study for ages 13–21 will be held 30 minutes after service Friday night. Food will be provided in the chapel for this group.
There will be food provided for all ages in the youth park Saturday night after church.
If lodging is needed, the dorms will be open. Please contact Sister Joy for booking at (704) 651-5168.
Recreational Vehicles (RV’s) will be limited to the Campground RV Park. Please contact Sister Janet Bishop for booking at (404) 886-5918.

We sincerely ask that you lift this weekend up in your prayers. In is a privilege to serve the Lord, and our brothers and sisters. We hope you will take this opportunity to join us at the Campground for Thanksgiving Work Weekend!
